Many localities have ordinances against people having unlicensed vehicles on their property. If your community has one, parting out your car is not an option for dealing with your used car.
Know your price range. Let the salesperson know what you are looking for and how much you are willing to spend. Being upfront helps them direct you to the right manufacturer and available deals.
